Vehicle Information Database
This is the core element that everything is based upon, consisting of a global vehicle code covering the different vehicle types i.e. Cars, LCV and Motor Cycles, back to 1980
and encumbers all the necessary fields to identify any of these along with all the associated components used in there creation or within the aftermarket thereafter.The data
covers manufacturer production, limited editions and import models and is sourced from manufacturer price lists, brochures and related literature.
Code Matching
Operating in conjunction with the Vehicle Database this program utilises the V:Spec code and its comprehensive fields to intelligently allow the matching of automotive industry
codes to each other electronically. VDS offer a service linking client's vehicle records or codes to the V:Spec code thus allowing a direct link to the vehicle VRM.
Database Cleansing and Enhancement
VDS offer a vehicle data cleansing service which offers data enhancement. This will make sure that your data is up to date and as accurate as possible. By keeping your data clean
you will benefit from accurate identification and descriptions of vehicles. We understand that it is vital for both dealers and vehicle manufacturers to keep their customer records
up to date. Holding accurate information can ensure marketing activity is correctly targeted and thus maximizing business and profitability.
Vehicle Identification
We provide a Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) web service which is a combination of DVLA data and V:Spec data which provides the industry's most accurate and in depth vehicle
identification detail by simply entering a vehicle registration number description, which can be used to populate customer's applications and systems or websites. The extra
information added to the V:Spec using DVLA data consists of Vehicle ID Number, year of manufacture, date of registration & colour etc. This combined with the V:Spec data gives
an accurate identification of any vehicle.
Vehicle Description and Codes
This data is drawn from numerous sources including motor manufacturers, component and material manufacturers, specialist data and information providers etc. and then entered,
formatted and stored in a unique manner, within the V:Spec Vehicle Database. The model codes consist of elements which cover Cars, LCV and Motor Cycles, each of the elements
has its own set of unique values. It provides the manufacturer, model and derivative name for each vehicle together with a unique ID number. For example a manufacturer and model
are designated using five characters – e.g. 06 for Audi, and 008 for A4 etc.
